Young Jamie Mitchell Jnr. Lifts Crudens Trophy

Young Jamie Mitchell emulated his father by winning the Cruden Trophy in an enthralling final at Musselburgh Municipal. In a keenly fought final of 25 ends,he held off the challenge of Martin Nesbit to win 21-17. In the first four ends they were  shared at 3-3, before Jamie went in front 6-3, however this lead didn't last as Martin picked up a three, when Jamie had a disastrous end, which luckily didn't end up a four. He recovered though by taking a two, then a full house himself, to go into a 12-9 lead. This lead he kept by keeping Martin down to only one shot in the ends he won and soon reached 20-14. As they always say the last shot is the hardest, and Martin kept up the challenge, pushing up to 20-17. The 25th end however proved to be the last, when Martin was lying shot and with the his last bowl, Jamie took it out to win the trophy which his father had won the year before.
