Pans Legion A v Inveresk
The 2 fours once again started the match off with full points, keeping us unbeaten this season, they were, J.Cameron, C.Johnstone, M.Yuill & R.Smith. The second four was M.Burgess, J.Muir, B.Bridges & A.Stewart.
In the singles, John Cameron led off but couldn't find his rythmn and lost, Mike Burgess' opponent had 77 left when he took out the 154 to draw level.Mark Yuill missed his doubles and let his opponent in to make it 2-1. The next 2 players, Rab Smith & Alec Stewart won their games well and put Inveresk into a 2-3 lead, this lead however dissapeared when Billy Bridges failed to get his starting double, then John Muir also let his opponent get into the lead before he hit his double start, then in a replica of Billy's game, Alec Turnbull failed to check in quick enough and could't pull it back, thus giving the Pans Legion A a 5-3 into the pairs.
John Cameron & Mike Burgess combined to win their game easily, John Muir & Rab Smith did the same to make the score 5-5. Colin Johnston & Alec Stewart played well to give us a chance to win the game, putting us 5-6 up. The last pair, Alex Turnbull & Billy Bridges did what they done in the singles and failed to hit the starting double and by the time they checked in it was too late, making the final score 6-6. |
