Local Champion of Champions Saturday 14/08/10
Only Niddrie ( Rab Bowie ) & Inveresk ( Mark Yuill )turned up, after the Eskmill’s player, Stuart Wyllie failed to turn up, this meant a straight final between the two.
On a lovely sunny day made for bowling, Rab Bowie won the toss and went into a 6-1 lead after five ends, however Mark then found his length at last and took the next five ends with a run of 2, 2, 1, 2, 1 to go into a 9-6 lead. Rab took a two at the next, which turned out to be his last score as Mark took the Championship with a extended run of 2, 1, 2, 2, 1 & 4 at the last to win 21-8. The score unfortunately doesn’t really tell how close the match was, as many ends were decided on measures. |
